The TO49R top of the range high capacity drum seedline runs at up to 1200 trays per hour and this with high seeding precision in terms of singulation as well as placement, even with difficult species.

It incorporates:

· RMS tray filler which is shown above and was the limiting factor in running at 1200 trays per hour until the button belt and magic fingers were developed which allow 1200 trays to be filled to a high standard and with optional compaction.

· The trays can be fed into the tray filler manually or destacked automatically even with thermoformed trays or nesting hard plastic trays.

· After being filled on the RMS the tray passes onto the seeding unit where it is dibbled and seeded.

· The seeding unit had the features seen on the TO53R with aluminium drums with stainless steel inserts, sideways moving agitated hopper, hammers to help remove doubles but also has other special features.

· The blow off manifold is very special with 12 blow off holes per hole in the drum which wobbles the seeds back and forward six times as the seed passes by the holes removing most doubles. This manifold can be individually adjusted sideways and vertically for each row and has an individual air supply.

· There is also a blow off manifold inside the drum which eliminates the vacuum and applies a small positive pressure to remove seed from the drum.

· Next another manifold applies a high pressure cleaning blast before going up into the seed hopper once more.

· A pause option is available so the drum stops from full speed in order to check seeding accuracy and adjust.

· Extra tips are available.

· This line is modular so you can have as much or as little as you need.

· The blow-off manifold runs on hot air to reduce condensation risk.

With all the adjustments and variables available this drum seeder really does a first class job and at 1200 trays per hour.

Changing seed, drums and tray cell count can all be achieved within five minutes due to good ergonomic design. See video.

Finally the tray passes onto the vermiculite / water belt (VP) and also an automatic stacker and buffer belt (AP52) all shown below in more detail.
