Details & Features

This higher density “Plantel” sized 26 x 9 inch vegetable propagation tray is designed to replace both the 310 and 341 cell trays of the same dimension, while keeping a very similar spacing and cell volume.

As the Proptek 396 has an injection molded construction, this allows us to have thinner cell walls and small outer walls. This saved space allows for 28% more cells than the 310 and 17% more than the 341, but keeps plant spacing virtually the same. This means a more economical and cost effective tray, without overly affecting plant quality.

The Proptek 396 features our patented root technology. Cells have internal vertical root training ribs to guide the roots down to the drain hole. This not only creates excellent roots that make the plant easy to pull, it creates a vertical chimney which aids aeration of the root ball and drainage. This all means a higher quality plant that is more likely to survive transplanting and grow vigorously.

Because of the tough injection molded construction, this tray has a very long working life – typically up to 10 years with care – even with multiple seedings per year.

Tray can be effectively and easily sterilized using steam without affecting tray integrity or future plant quality.

Please Note…

1 Full truck loads can fit more trays per pallet as a dedicated full size 53ft lorry is used for delivery. For partial truck loads, we cannot guarantee the height of the lorry, so pallets must fit into all commercial freight vehicles. If arranging your own transport, please advise us at the earliest opportunity on the internal height of your vehicle.

2 Trays are stacked loose or partly loose to get the maximum number of trays per container. This will result in lower unit shipping cost but also more labor to unload

All statistics and measurements may vary so please check before purchasing, if critical, or ask for sample.

In my opinion, Proptek’s 162 injection molded tray is the best reusable watermelon transplant tray on the market.

Patrick Mobley | Mobley Greenhouse Inc, GA, United States

We have been using Proptek propagation trays for decades now and the plant quality is always second to none. The design helps us produce as many plants per foot as physically possible whilst keeping the quality high, which something that is important to us as we are ourselves strive to produce the best we can. John and the team aren’t just churning out plastic trays – they live and breathe horticulture and have done for years now, so you know you are getting what’s best for the plants. What’s best for the plants is best for us.

Zoë Bradbury | Valley Flora Farm, OR, United States

Our 6-acre vegetable farm is committed to generating as much production with as little waste as possible. We have never been satisfied with the flimsy plastic propagation trays that dominate the nursery industry, because of the garbage they create, the difficulty of moving trays in the greenhouse, the challenge of removing plugs, and the overall lower quality starts they produce.

We were thrilled to discover Proptek trays last year and now use the 144s for nearly all of our vegetable start production. The smooth, tapered plug design makes transplanting fast and easy, and the quality of our plants has been excellent.

Best of all, they are extremely durable. I fully expect we’ll still be using the same trays in a decade, and beyond. The folks at Proptek worked with us to fulfill a group order for a handful of organic farmers in the Pacific Northwest and every single farm has been impressed by these trays so far. Thank you Proptek for designing a quality product that meets our farm’s production needs and will stand the test of time.
